Chinese taxi service

Leon introduced me to the Chinese taxi service a couple weeks ago. Indeed it is cheaper than a regular cab, but I think I actually prefer sitting in the subway an hour longer than deal with the smell of a Chinese taxi. I must say however that the smell of Chinese taxi is less offensive to me than Pakistani taxi.

Price of a ride from JFK to the city on the subway: $7.

Honolulu Day 4

For a 3.5 day trip, this was probably one of the best I’ve had.  We did a couple of hikes, spent 3 days at 2 different beaches, had great local food, great higher end cuisine.  More importantly, Tam and I hung out with 2 sets of friends that previously didn’t know each other, having a great time and getting to know each other better.

Last Flight of the Year

I really had amazingly good luck today.  Last flight of the year (only 85k miles this year) and I was expecting the worst.  Somehow, I was done with meetings three hours early and JA drove me to the airport.  I happened to walk up to the next Chicago flight (leaving in 90 minutes) and the prior Chicago flight had not actually closed yet, but they were about to close the doors.  I hopped on, and
